I'm still on a bit of a blog break while I work a few things out and finish some things off. But many thoughtful thoughts are thinking themselves and th th th eh thwriting themselves, so bear with me.
I needed to say something. I had to go back to the 2nd hand kids shop (50% off sale right now, thankfully) as some of the pre Christmas clothes no longer fit him. Yes. 2 Weeks ago, fit. Now, nope. His tops are now 5/6's. Yes. 5. FIVE. 6. SIX.
If it weren't for the continuous stream of snot- I'd see him and half expect a beard to sprout any day now.
ETA: Today, I actually had to go to the big kids section to get a fleece in a size 7 with arms long enough to fit. SEVEN. That's a Medium in big kids. Pediatrician's appointment is scheduled so she can tell me I'm crazy and to let him keep growing in peace. But, as funny strange as this is- the more I try to get him clothes to fit- the more worried I get. Literally sick to my stomach worried.

Wow, that is some major growth! I don't know much about it, but I don't think I'd worry. I think it's probably a huge growth spurt. A gigantic growth spurt. Natalie went from a girl's size 3.5 TWO months ago, to a woman's size 7!!!!!! And she's gone up 4 clothing sizes since being home. She's also grown 5 inches. Might be growth spurt, good nutrition, maybe his little soul is experiencing zen-like conditions thus creating a perfectly safe place and time to grow. You must be able to tell I'm exhausted....I think that may be the second time in my life I've said "zen".
Ok, it was sorta funny at first, right? And now I am worried with you...
your freaking out is freaking me out. i hope he's ok.
that picture of girls is wild! I'd hide in a closet too. ;)
Hope everything is okay and he is just going through a major growth spurt!
First of all HUGS to you. I know you've been worried about him alot. I haven't known what to say to you regarding it, as I have quite a teeny peanut here at home. But her really is looking older than what he supposedly should be for his age. Especially in this pic that you posted. My 7 year old son, Caleb, who is also a petite little thing is in a size 6. Can it be possibly that now he isn't suffering from malnurishment that he is recovering from kwashikore and is older than guessed?
wow that is a BIG growth spurt! Will be interested to see what doctors say!
I should clarify. The total height growth isn't the major concern. He's still only in 50%ile for height. 7 inches is a LOT- but the scary part is that the grand majority of this growth is all upper body length. His pants today were 2ts. (although most are 3s out of spite). Its the upper vs. lower part that worries the heck out of me. It's probably nothing but the fact that our kids have all no answers in history- they are ?marks we have to explore.
